Apple iCloud Mail

  3. Under Sign-In & Security, open App-Specific Passwords and press Generate an app-specific password.

  2. Open Yahoo's app password page and sign in.
  3. Name it CaseRelief and press Generate password.

Import a file (Google Takeout)

Good for an old account, or for working from a copy of your mail.

  1. Go to takeout.google.com, click Deselect all, then tick Mail.
  2. Click Next step, choose Export once and .zip, then Create export. Google emails you when it's ready, which can take a few hours.
  3. Download the .zip.
  4. In CaseRelief, click + Import a file, then Browse file… and pick the .zip. CaseRelief reads the mailbox inside it.

The same button takes Thunderbird .mbox files, .eml files or folders, and .zip archives.

Other email (IMAP)

Pick Custom IMAP. Enter your email address, your provider's app password (or your regular password, if your provider allows it) and its IMAP server, for example imap.example.com. The server needs SSL on port 993. Then press Connect.
